Dear Heritage Society Friends:
As we approach the end of another year, we are filled with gratitude for the support you have extended to Heritage Village: Museum of Texas Handmade Furniture. 2024 was an exciting year here at Heritage Village, we initiated several new historic preservation projects such as the 1853 Braschler Haus move, and the ca. 1850 Gruene-Welsch Smokehouse move. We also showcased a wide array of programs and exhibitions that catered to all age groups, abilities and interests, ensuring that history, art, and our unique Central Texas culture can be experienced by all. Most notably, we provided field trips for over 1000 students in NBISD who came to Heritage Village to learn about our pioneer forefathers. The images below are just a small example of the cultural highlights from the year and a reminder of the Museum’s special initiatives that have been enriching the lives of our visitors and community.
It’s the continued support of community members like you that has played a pivotal role in enabling us to fulfill our mission to offer something for everyone. We invite you to join us again by making a contribution to the Heritage Society’s 2024 Annual Appeal. Your generosity makes a significant impact and together we can continue to inspire, educate and unite through history, art, and culture.
In 2025 the Heritage Society has identified the following goals and projects to help save the history, art, and culture of our city and bring value to our community:
1846 German Protestant Church Reconstruction
Preservation of the 1853 Braschler Haus and development of a new gallery for the Museum of Texas Handmade Furniture
Reconstruction of the Gruene-Welsch Smokehouse
Developing nature trails in the back forest and establishing Heritage Village as an Arboretum
Stage construction and development of a Heritage Village concert series
Establishment of Heritage Village as an official stop on the Camino Real De Los Tejas National Historic Trail
Expanding the field trip program to more students in CISD, homeschool groups, and private schools
Your fully tax-deductible gift supports the implementation of exhibitions, public programs and education programs and helps us reach thousands of school children each year. We know there are many worthy organizations asking for your support, and we thank you for your consideration and for being part of the Heritage Society of New Braunfels.
With Gratitude,
